The Destination
Quiet and scenic Seaview, Washington, is perched on the Long Beach peninsula, offering respite from the bustle of urban life just two hours from both Olympia and Portland. Victorian houses dot the tree-lined streets of a town that began as little more than a stop on the Clamshell Railroad. Today, the Discovery Trail—commemorating Lewis and Clark's expedition—links Seaview to the neighboring communities of Ilwaco and Long Beach. And at the tip of Cape Disappointment State Park, you'll find the North Head Lighthouse, built in 1897.

The Digs
The Shelburne Inn is an award-winning American institution. The historic property has been welcoming guests since 1896, making it the oldest continually operating hotel in Washington state. In addition to period antiques, original artwork, and stained glass, guest rooms feature private baths and many offer private decks. Just a ten-minute walk from the beach, the inn prides itself on serving local cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—think fresh seafood like Willapa Bay oysters, Dungeness crab, and savory clams—as well as house-made breads and desserts in the Shelburne Restaurant and Pub. The space also hosts live music four nights per week.
