The Destination
It's easy to get hooked on Cape Cod, Massachusetts's curling headland known for Martha's Vineyard, clam bakes, and landscapes that inspire the same smooth sentimentality as the mellow figures of an oil painting. Theses 400 miles of lighthouse-laden shoreline play host to a "Cultural Coast:" Presidential vacation spots, whale-watching in Hyannis, windsurfing at Nantucket Sound, and trend-setting in Provincetown. Be they writers, golfers, or summer-ers, everyone's a fisher, so seafood is a staple on the menu. While the Cape escapes the inland winter chill, cool Canadian currents keep light fleece in fashion year-round.

The Digs
Cape Cod Bay cozies up to the The Cove at Yarmouth, its warm surf practically lapping at the back door of the area's largest year-round resort. Here on the convivial beaches of the Mid-Cape region, you'll bed down in suites recalling seaside cabins with warm wood tones, bay blues, and nautical themed décor. Situated on Route 28, The Cove provides easy access to nearby shops, shores, and piers. Should a bluster drive you indoors, the on-campus sports center accommodates tennis, racquetball, wallyball, volleyball, and lap swimming. For dinner, there are grills for your day's catch, and Four Brothers Bistro serves a meatloaf that beat a national-cable-food-channel star's in a televised competition.

  • "Hands down, this was the nicest place we have stayed at while on Cape Cod in the last 13 years. We absolutely loved our suite with lovely water views. There were many activities, a wonderful restaurant, and a friendly staff."
