The resort was smaller than I expected, however, the room was amazing, the view of the mountains to the south was incredible and beautiful. Seeing the room for the first time was a relief, my girlfriend and I had just been through the maze that is the hotel after being told by a valet to take the pool elevators to go up to our floor when coming from the underground parking lot in the back of the hotel-little did we know that such a simple task was going to be much more difficult than expected, due to our bags & the maze. We were amazed at the poor directions given to us by the valet, but compared to the ones given by the check in-he didn't give us any, and didn't give us a chance to ask him either-they were great. The check in's lackadaisical nature concerned us, his disregard for customer service was appreciable, since he basically asked for a credit card and id, checked us in, gave us wristbands & instructions, & a map of the resort and didn't give us a chance to slip more than one question before he disappeared to the side. We asked him about breakfast, and his response was that it wasn't included in the deal that we got (which we knew), besides being a bad salesperson for the hotel's dining options, the manner in which he answered the question (fairly rushed and without interest) left us with a bad first impression. Later that Friday, my gf and I were ready for some sushi at the hotel restaurant (which the hotel booklet said closed at 11pm on Fridays), I called the front desk to see if we had to make a reservation @ ~10pm, only to be told that the restaurant had already closed. Disgruntled, we ordered room service. We returned to sushi on Saturday and found the sushi chefs to be not only friendly, but open to providing great service, and delicious food. Our waiter (Hispanic w/left arm covered) was very friendly, and too deserves great lauding for his approachable, and friendly nature. They made this trip, and our 2yr anniversary better!
pros: The room was amazing, for the price, I think it was a great room. I'm not sure how good or bad of a room it was in contrast to others, but the view from the room was amazing! The service by the sushi chefs & our waiter were unbelievably great!!
cons: -Hotel layout was like a maze -The check in clerk seemed rush, and made it seem like helping us was a pain. He didn't give us directions to find our room -Operator said Sushi was closed, although it wasn't -Limited parking -Insufficient pool chairs
