Continued from above: the elevator on that end of the building wasn't working either but stairways were accessible enough. These issues did not by any means ruin our trip, but I thought the inconvence was warranted a rate concession or a complimentary drink or anything except the assurance that future guests would be less inconvenienced. Otherwise, it's the perfect place to stay on the Plaza in Sante Fe.
pros: Eventually got a great room considering the age of the facility.
cons: The only bad part of the experience was that the A/C in out first room didn't work. After two attempts by staff to start it, we were invited to schlep our luggage to the other end of the building at 12:30 in the morning. Admittedly, we didn't check til 11

Hotel was quiet and peaceful and had a wonderful southwestern laid-back feel that enables one to relax and feel welcome.
pros: Adjoins the Loretto Chapel which is a historic and spiritual marvel.
cons: Bartender was a little snooty
