The Destination
Noble County, Ohio, has a ring to it, no? Here in the southeastern part of the Buckeye State, the hills roll gently toward the horizon, and nearby Senecaville Lake draws anglers, boaters, and bathers all summer. Noble is home to the Thorla-McKee Well, the first oil well in North America, and one of the nation's finest collections of antique glassware at the Baker Glass Museum. In the county seat of Caldwell (population 1,748), Art on the Square shows off the works and wares of local artisans and craftspeople. Though there's plenty to do, most people visit Noble County for a less tangible reason—to savor small-town America while it lasts.

The Digs
Buffalo Hills Resort—set on 360 rural acres—provides plenty of ways to enjoy the great outdoors, from tent and RV camping to log cabins. The Amish-built cabins are fully furnished and come equipped with a kitchen, dining area, bathroom, living room with television, outdoor deck, and all bedding and linens. Beyond the cabins, you'll find a large clubhouse, mini golf course, seasonal swimming pool, and a network of forested trails. Rent an ATV for an off-road adventure or take a guided horseback tour of the property. You can even see the resident herd of American Bison that gave the resort its name.

  • "This resort is amazing! It is a little slice of heaven hidden in the country. The view is simply to die for. The staff are amazing and take pride in the work they do to make your stay one to remember."
